SHORTER UNIVERSITY was founded in 1873, and it is located in Rome, Georgia, only 70 miles from Atlanta, 65 miles from Chattanooga, Tennessee. The University is committed to providing quality higher education, enabling and encouraging student commitment to active life-long learning, personal spiritual values, responsible citizenship, and community and societal leadership in a global context. COSTS FOR 2017-2018 ACADEMIC YEAR:

Undergraduate Tuition & Fees: $25,180

Room & Board: $9,400

College of Adult and Professional Programs (CAPP) Tuition 2017-2018: $470/credit hour

Financial Assistance: 5% of top undergraduate international applications are given a scholarship (around 10% of first year’s tuition) based on applicants’ academic standards and achievements.)

English Proficiency Requirements (pick one):

Non-native English speakers can choose to take ONE of the following: SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS or PTE. Below are minimum scores accepted:

  • SAT: 450 critical reading / 450 math, ACT: 19, TOEFL: ibt 61/ cbt 173 / pbt 500, or IELTS: 5  (Undergraduate programs)
  • IBT /TOEFL Minimum of 68 on the iBT, IELTS minimum of 5 within the last 2 years (Graduate programs)
  • PTE: 44 for undergraduate programs and 47 for graduate programs.

Application Deadline: Shorter University offers rolling admissions but encourages the following dates for submission of applications (for undergraduate and graduate applications): June 15 and November 15.
